About Gitabitan Archive
Very recently the world celebrated 150th birth-anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. It is really surprising that even after 150 years we have been overwhelmed by the creation of Rabindranath’s monumental works. His songs, his philosophy of life, his literatures has kept us hypnotises years after years.
Tagore is immortal to us for his ‘songs`- Rabindra sangeer. At the age of 13 he started with “Gaganer Tahle Rabi-Chandra-Dipak Jwele” which ended at “He Nutan Dekha Dik Aarbar” few months before his death. In this path of long 67 years Rabindranath composed more than 2100 songs.
These songs have been classified in many ‘types’ and ‘sub-types’ and compiled in Gitabitan. The ‘types ‘ are Puja, Prem, Prakriti, Swadesh, Aanusthanik, Bichitra, Prem-O-Prakriti, Puja-O-Prem etc. Moreover 3 Geetinatyas and 3 Nrityanatyas are in the list.
We have endless inquisitiveness about his songs. We never become tired of hearing Rabindra Sangeet. It gives us heavenly peace of mind and inspiration of life. But while hearing a Rabindra Sangeet sometimes do not we want to know when and why Rabindranath composed this song? How old he was at that time? Where it was written? Who wrote the Notation? What was the Sur & Tal of that particular song? In the deep of our dream we can imagine to get such a medium which will give us instant excess to any Rabindra Sangeet of our choice. We can listen our favorite piece of song instantly from the ocean of Gitabitan. And if that song can be heard in the voice of our favorite singer? Then nothing like that.
This desire invigorated me to develop the unique software Gitabitan Archive. After vast research & labor of two and half year I compiled all songs of Gitabitan in a single DVD from where one can easily pick up and listen his favourite Rabindrasangeet in the voice of his favourite artist just after a mouse click.
Gitabitan Archive is an Archival cum Entertainment software on the whole contents GITABITAN of Rabindra Nath Tagore. It is an interactive software which can be played easily by a computer. It has an Installer CD (which contains the programme) and a DVD (which contains all songs and data).
At the beginning it is necessary to install the programme in the computer by Installer CD. After proper installation and inserting the DVD in the drive we shall get a welcome window. Clicking the “Book” icon the wonderful world of Gitabitan will be unfolded in front of us. We shall be overwhelmed be realizing the fulfillment of our intangible dream.
